Question type strategy
JEE Advanced uses 5 different question types with different marking schemes. Each requires a different tactical approach.
Single Correct MCQ
+3M−1~6/paperEliminate options, not just solve forward. Two wrong options are usually obvious — use this to narrow down without full calculation.
Multiple Correct MCQ

Is JEE Advanced harder than JEE Main?
Significantly harder. JEE Main tests conceptual understanding up to NCERT+extensions. JEE Advanced tests deep derivations, multi-step reasoning, and non-textbook applications. A student scoring 99 percentile in JEE Main may struggle to cross cutoff in JEE Advanced without dedicated Advanced-specific preparation.
How many attempts does a student get for JEE Advanced?
Exactly 2 attempts, and they must be in consecutive years. A student who appeared in JEE Advanced 2024 can attempt 2025 but not 2026. This is a hard limit — no exceptions for medical reasons.
Should I prepare for JEE Main and Advanced simultaneously?
Yes, but with different layers. Prepare the JEE Main syllabus fully first (NCERT mastery).
