Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (J&K)

Amount: ₹30,000/year (professional) + ₹25,000/year (general)

Deadline: October (NSP)

Eligibility: Permanent resident of J&K; admission in central/state institutions outside J&K

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship (Minority Girls)

Maulana Azad Education Foundation

Government

Amount: ₹5,000 (Class 9–10) + ₹6,000 (Class 11–12)

Deadline: September–October

Eligibility: Minority community girl students; 50%+ marks; family income ≤ ₹2 lakh/year

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS)

Ministry of Education

Government

Amount: ₹12,000/year (Classes 9–12)

Deadline: State-specific (November–December)

Eligibility: Class 8 students; family income ≤ ₹3.5 lakh/year; State-level NMMS exam with 55% cutoff

National Scholarship Portal (NSP) — Your First Stop

Most central government scholarships are accessible via scholarships.gov.in. Register once with your Aadhaar and apply for multiple scholarships. Application season is typically September–November each year.

  • Register with Aadhaar + bank account before September
  • Keep income certificate, caste certificate, and marksheet ready
  • Apply to all eligible schemes in one session
  • Check verification status regularly — incomplete docs cause rejection
