UPSC CSE Prelims Study Timetable
Target: June (Prelims)
UPSC Prelims requires breadth across History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Science & Technology, Environment, and Current Affairs. This 12-month plan starts NCERTs in Month 1, moves to standard references by Month 4, and converges on mock tests and current affairs by Month 10. Current Affairs must run daily — never skip a day of newspaper reading.

Avoid These
- Don't skip current affairs — 15–20% of questions are directly from last 12–18 months
- Don't use too many books — one standard reference per subject is enough
- Don't neglect CSAT — many candidates fail Prelims due to Paper II
- Don't take notes from everything — write only what you will actually revise
- Don't compare rank in test series — focus on improving accuracy per attempt
