Calculus is 40% of Mathematics — treat it like a subject in itself
Spend 4–5 weeks exclusively on Calculus (Limits → Derivatives → Applications → Integration → Differential Equations). Every other chapter can be learned in 1–2 weeks.
Learn 3 standard integration techniques deeply
JEE Integration uses: substitution, by parts, and partial fractions. Master these 3 — 95% of integration questions use only these. Do not memorise obscure formulas.
Draw coordinate geometry sketches always
A circle, parabola, or ellipse problem takes 10 seconds to sketch and eliminates 2 wrong answer options immediately. Students who sketch get Coordinate Geometry right 15% more often.
Probability: only multiplication and addition rules matter
JEE Probability questions have three types: basic counting, conditional probability, and Bayes. Learn one template for each type — do not attempt to reason from scratch in the exam.
Integer-type Mathematics questions: guess only when 2 options eliminated
Integer-type MCQs have no negative marking. If you can eliminate 2 options and time allows, guess. If time is short, answer and move — no penalty.
Matrices: row reduction is the only technique you need

Definite Integration (substitution, properties)
Learn the 6 standard properties of definite integrals (King's rule, f(a+b-x), etc.). These properties solve 80% of JEE Integration questions in 3 steps instead of 10.
Binomial Theorem (general term, middle term)
Always start by writing T_{r+1} = nCr × x^(n-r) × y^r. This general term formula is the starting point for every Binomial question. Students who forget it attempt 4 different approaches.
Permutation and Combination (arrangement, selection)
P&C is 90% logic and 10% formula. Practice categorising each question as: arrangement (P) or selection (C), with repetition or without, with restriction or without.
Complex Numbers (modulus, argument, locus)
Master Argand plane representation first. Every complex number locus question becomes a straight line or circle once you convert z = x + iy.
